A number of the attractive islands for vacation are Spanish speaking islands with the majority of the population speaking Spanish and having Spanish as their official language. In my experience don’t hesitate to go to such islands for vacation as the Spanish speaking population is a nice experience in itself.
To meet the Spanish language and the Spanish cultural influence as an English speaking tourist will be a reward. The food and the special local dishes will often be the way we experience the Spanish culture directly from the beginning of our stay at a Spanish speaking island.
To get in contact with the local people you should learn a little Spanish for general communication – it’s about food and about other daily matters. The Spanish language isn’t at all difficult for English speaking people. And just a few words and sentences will increase your opportunities for a nice experience very much.
